Becoming a True Worshipper
John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
We can see that the all powerful, all knowing, omnipresent God is looking for something. It is as if God is still saying, “Adam, Where art thou.” God is looking for True Worshippers. Those who will worship Him in “Spirit” and in “Truth.”
Question: So how do we worship God in Spirit and in Truth? Is it singing the right songs? Going to the right church? Does it mean lifting or clapping my hands?
In Spirit means to worship him with our total being (because we are spirit beings). This is being who God created us to be.
In Truth means to worship him in accordance with the Word of God.
BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front): When we are living our lives in accordance with the Word of God, we are being “True Worshippers!”
Worship is more than coming to a church service or singing a few songs. A True Worshipper knows who they are and lives their lives in accordance with the Word of God.
