Turn on the Light
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
The first thing the Psalmist acknowledged was the fact that The Lord was his light and his salvation. Given the context of this passage, it would appear that the he was in the midst of a dangerous situation.
Light: The Psalmist realized that no matter how dark the situation looked on the outside, the Lord was able to initiate change. Light will always overtake darkness.
Some of us may be facing some dark situations where we can’t see our way through. We must never loose sight of the fact that The Lord is our Light. When things look their darkest, we should look to the Word of God to light our paths.
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
As we introduce light (the Word) in our situation, the Lord will open up our understanding and give us revelation knowledge of whatever we are dealing with.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
As we walk with the Lord, He will be the Light that we need in the midst of dark situations. Just because we are walking with Jesus, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be seasons of darkness in our lives. There are going to be times when we find ourselves in a dark place. We must always remember that the Lord will never leave us or forsake us.
